TUMBLE DOWN

Let's imagine for a while
That life is like a movie
All smiles and happy endings
Where everything just seems to fit
Just like it was intended
No hearts in need of mending
What would you do if you could never fail?
What would you say to the world
If you were the wind
And not the sail
You'd speak of
Joy unbounded
Fears unfounded
Honesty without the thought of consequence
Optimism as a means not an end
And all those walls of self-doubt Tumble Down
'n so you look at where you are
And wonder how you got here
And think of where you're going
You find you're looking for a plan
Some kind of guiding hand
And actual way of knowing
What would you try if you could never fail?
what would you say to the world
If you were the wind
And not the sail
You'd speak of
Joy unbounded
Fears unfounded
Honesty without the thought of consequence
Optimism as a means not an end
And all those walls of self-doubt Tumble
Joy unmeasured
Moments treasured
Honesty regardless of the circumstance
Learning how to treat yourself as a friend
And all those walls of self-doubt Tumble Down
'Cause when you call me, I'll be, by your side
And when you know it, show it, don't deny
All it takes is a show of faith in you and your own life
Joy unbounded
Fears unfounded
Honesty without the thought of consequence
Optimism as a means not an end
And all those walls of self-doubt Tumble
Joy unmeasured
Moments treasured
Honesty regardless of the circumstance
Learning how to treat yourself as a friend
And all those walls of self-doubt Tumble Down
About 'Tumble Down' - 1/07 - 19/07/02 MattyB
Ever since I started writing, I've always come up with songs like this
positive lyrics, uplifting melodies, big soaring vocals
and of course it made it very difficult
to be taken seriously back in say, '94 when it was all Nirvana and Pearl Jam and everything was
teen angst and "just look around me; how bad is my life?"
Dom once gave me a CD of a bunch of ideas of his, and one of the tracks featured the opening
chords of what became Tumble Down.
