IM COMING OVER
Music and lyrics by Matthew Robinson © July 2002
As moments go, I guess this one was pretty clear and simple
What should I be surprised to find?
Story goes, the times were good, but what is there to measure
When someone leaves someone behind?
And I am through with wishing you could be around
So Im coming over
Turn the music on
Go and make it last the weekend long
Make it at least a little like you were never gone
Im coming over
Make it real again
Make it like it never had to end
Show me that it doesnt have to be different
Take me somewhere we can breathe and maybe talk a little
Theres always far too much to say
I dont think its too hard to believe this is for a reason
And it could bring you back someday
I am not here to question why it went this way
Im just coming over
So turn the music on
Go and make it last the weekend long
Make it at least a little like you were never gone
Im coming over
Make it real again
Make it like it never had to end
Show me that it doesnt have to be different
Im here to assure you
I am so happy for you
This is yours, its this because
You always knew your way
I cant pretend that you are not my saving grace
So Im coming over
Turn the music on
Go and make it last the weekend long
Make it at least a little like you were never gone
Im coming over
Make it real again
Make it like it never had to end
Show me that it doesnt have to be different
Im coming o, Im coming over
Make it real again
Make it like it never had to end
Show me that it doesnt have to be different
It doesnt have to be different
It doesnt have to be different
It doesnt have to be different
About 'I'm Coming Over' - 07/02 - Matthew R.
I was in a low financial patch, when a couple of MAMMA MIA! friends in Brisbane (thanks Matt
& Kel!) offered to fly me up to Brissy and spend the weekend with them at Noosa. Well, it all
went to plan and the chorus of I'm Coming Over got finished just before touchdown in QLD. That
weekend was one of the clearest and simplest times I'd had all year. So, I finished the verses
back in Melbourne, before the real moment of truth when Matt B. and Dom put down some harmonies
on a vocal demo. It never fails to put a smile on my face.
