Steve Virgona
Hi my names Steve, and I eat pasta a fair bit.
26 y.o., been performing live regularly over the past 9 years in various cover bands, and performing
originals over the past 4 years.
Cover bands involved with have catered for a colourful variety of styles. Spent several years
playing RnR/R&B and Rock in regular working bands. Have also played with funk/jazz bands, reception
bands and more recently, involved with duo/trio work.
I have worked as a session musician and have been involved in the recording of EP's, singles,
and an album, including:
'Less than Perfect' (Shane Marshall) - 1999
'241 Dead End' (Dom Italiano and the Rubber band) - 1999
'Starting from Scratch' (Itchy Fingers) - 1997
Have performed with many Melbourne/Sydney based musicians as well as some national/international
artists including John Farnham, K.P.S Jam and blues artists; Geoff Achison & Kenny Shepard.
Have played at many venues, functions, charities and festivals around Victoria as well as interstate,
including Wintersun Rock'n'Roll festival and Tamworth Music festival.
I currently teach electric bass at St.Francis Xavier College (Beaconsfield) and have attained
a Bachelor of Teaching at the University of Melbourne.
A long list of influences include: The Beatles, Billy Joel, Toto, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten,
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Marcus Miller, Elvis Presley, James Jamerson, Johann Sebastian Bach, Larry
Graham, The Police, and almost every artist from the 80's!
My favourite foods include: any pasta!, pizza, subway, oysters, wizz fizz.
Preferably a plate of canneloni, followed by a meatball subway, and chased with a wizz fizz coated
oyster!
Favourite drink is Wild Turkey,- gobble gobble!
